5 Reasons We Love Avon

There’s no place we’d rather be

HomePro is located in Avon, a town that’s hard to beat – great schools, beautiful parks, and plenty of fun activities to enjoy. These are just a handful of the reasons we love Avon:

1. Washington Township Park

This 160-acre Avon park is two miles west of HomePro’s office. We’ve enjoyed spending time at family picnics, playing volleyball, or just relaxing in the shade. Notable attractions here include a large dog park (separated into three sections based on dog size) and the historic 1876 Whipple Iron Truss Bridge. You’ll also find a splash pad in the summer, and Penguin Park in the winter, a large synthetic ice rink with skates available to rent.

2. The B&O Trail

The B&O Trail – named for the former railroad – is currently completed from County Road 500 East (3 miles west of State Road 267) to Raceway Road in Brownsburg with a tunnel under Ronald Reagan Parkway decorated with murals painted by local artists. The B&O Trail recently received a $4.5 million Next Level Trail Grant from the state to add 6.43 miles of asphalt to the trail, extending the existing trail both east and west and completing a key link with Indianapolis.

3. The Avon Orioles

During basketball and football season, Avon High School is the heart of the community. Going to a game here is a fun experience for the whole family!

4. The Neighborhoods

We’ve enjoyed watching Avon grow over the years and the development of its neighborhoods. Some of our favorites are Parks at Prestwick, next to Prestwick Country Club; Red Oak Drive and its beautifully manicured lawns; and Brownstone, at 100 North and Sunset Boulevard. (We service all of those areas, by the way).

5. The Tie Die Lab

This unique art studio allows you to walk out with a fully completed tie-dye creation in about an hour. Simply pick your garment and your colors and staff will guide you through the rest. They also book private parties and host special events for preschoolers, senior citizens, and homeschool groups.

Coming soon: Murphy Aquatic Park

Avon’s newest attraction, its very first waterpark, is slated for grand opening in May 2022 across from the Avon Junior Athletic Association ball fields on Hendricks County Road 625 East. The aquatics facility will feature a wave pool, water slides, toddler zone, cabana rentals, bathhouse, and large ADA-accessible water playground in the center of the pool. We can’t wait!
